Over the years we have changed to low fat diet. Way we manage it is by balancing what we use for ingredients in the dishes we make. There are always alternative you can choose to make your plate with healthy options.
There are always temptations, this does not mean that give up everything you see or may like. Besides, ingredient you choose in your meal, the next important this is portion control. Stop having more food before you think you are going to overstuff yourself.
So, how do we do it- for ingredients, avoid dark meat if all possible, and reduce fat in your dairy products. Lower carb in your diet, eat more colorful veggies. Use healthier oils in cooking such as olive oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, peanut oil etc. Avoid all hydrogenated oils and spreads. Have a fair portion of fruits, and reduce portion of sugar in your meals. In lieu of eating processed foods, switch to more nuts like almond, pistachio etc. Hey, you don’t want have boring food, spice it up a bit your dishes with seasonings.
So what is there gain from following low fat diet, it obvious and you know it. You can manage your weight; reduce your chances for having heart related illness. When you are in twenties, you are on see diet, you eat what you see! Thirties when you should start thinking about yourself for your goodness of your own health. You can manage your diet at any age, there are no rules, the ones those are all which you make for your health.
