Try this lusciously creamy smoothie made with simple ingredients which includes avocado, matcha powder, honey and milk that satisfies you with the rich taste.

Avocado Matcha Smoothie is a perfect summer afternoon treat which you can enjoy with friends and family. This is not just healthy but it is delicious.

I use Hass avocado which is full of heart healthy monounsaturated fat which is rich in potassium and is cholesterol free. It is packed with vitamins and minerals per California avocado growers.

I came up with a thought of making the smoothie while surfing on Amazon when I saw Starter Organic Matcha powder. The price was very good, so just bought it.

I love matcha, whenever I see something made with matcha, I try it. Matcha is antioxidant which bolsters the immune system. It also supports good metabolism and contains much less caffeine than black tea.

Matcha is made from young green tea leaves. They have method how and when to pick the leaves.

I have seen tea plantations in southern India, they are really a once in a life time opportunity to see. It’s really a beautiful site to see tea grown on the hills of Munnar and Nilgiri. If you are lucky you may even see wild elephants roam there !

For preparing avocado matcha smoothie, I used skim milk, but that can be made dairy free by using almond milk. This would make it even more nutritious.

Ingredients

  • 1 Avocado ripe
  • 2 Cup skim milk or use almond milk
  • 2 Teaspoon matcha powder
  • 6 Tablespoon honey
  • 1 Cup water
  • 8 Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Halve avocado, remove pit and place in the blender jar.
  2. Add honey, matcha powder, milk (almond or soy milk can be substituted to make it dairy free), ice cubes and water.
  3. Blend till it is nice and smooth; add additional honey to suit your taste.
